Sailor Moon Musicals!
I've loved Sailor Moon ever since I was a kid. And a friend of mine had (almost) all episodes that have been showed on Swedish TV (2 seasons I think) and then we started downloading the last three seasons. And we have also watched the Live Action series, which is fabulously bad, the youmas might the the funniest things ever. But Mamoru is hot like hell!
Sailor Moon Musicals were played every year from 93-05. And I've known that. I just never gotten down to finding them. Until I was dl the anime to watch with a friend and found that all of the musicals, except one I think, have been subbed and uploaded at the fabulous sailormoonsfansubs site. Yesterday I watched the first musical, and parts of the 2nd before I fell asleep. Oh god. '93!! XDDD
I couldn't help myself but to cap some things because yeah, funny. XD
First of all Naoko Takeuchi, the author. Look at her! She seemed so adorable! ♥
Endymion and Serenity aka Mamoru and Usagi. Now.. Mamoru seems younger than Usagi.. Something is not right here!! And of the costumes. I shall never complain about Johnny's costumes again!
heeh. Somewhat cold kiss. XD
Seriously. Mamoru!! Why? That is not a Mamoru!!
But they were cute together tho. XD
Makoto, Minako, Usagi, Rei and Ami. And random, in the Swedish version Usagi's name was Annie, and Ami was Ami. Strange. But still, better than Bunnie. XD
Artemis and Luna!
Queen Beryl! LOOK AT THE CHRISTMAS GLITTER IN HER COSTUME! XD
They crucified Mamoru! OH NO! XD
But YEY! Sparkly sailor senshi comes to the rescue!
And then they fought/danced. XD
And then there was angst!
Luna's rings on her breasts puzzles me.
Sailor Moon made this face a lot when she was angsting:
The Heart Rod sure is huge!
And then I cried too much to cap anymore. Because yeah, I can see that it was very B, and that the acting was very much over the top, but it's still Sailor Moon and I love it too much to be really critical.
Except for the choices of Mamoru.
The 2nd musical they've changed from small boy to too old man:
WTH?!!!! So NOT Mamoru!

Oh, before that, my 47 pamphlet is falling apart, and as much as it hurts, I could pick it apart and scan it, since I'll have to buy a new one anyway. Question is, is it needed? I suppose there's already full scans of it out there somewhere? Advice? ^^;;

Sailor Moon is probably my favorite shoujo ever ^^. Not the best story, nor the best drawing, but it's a very important series to me. I like it since 1997, which is like 12 years ago. Time surely pass by.
AAW!! I LIKED THE LIVEACTION!! @___@ I mean, the youma are strange, all that cardboard and stuff, and the transformations and attacks are kinda bizarre, but the version of the story and everything else (ex.: the background story for the inner senshi, MAMORU, the four generals etc.) make up for it. It's my favorite version, actually. I didn't like the manga that much.
PLUS. The musicals are EVEN MORE BIZARRE than the liveaction. I never watched them because all the pics I saw were SO STRANGE (Usagi's hair was so YELLOW and some of the actresses were actually FRIGHTENING me) that I couldn't even start searching for it. But I will probably start downloading now since you gave me a nice link *-*. COME ON, what the hell were those people dressed up as CATS? I've got to see that with my own eyes.
(I like the musicals soundtracks, actually. Sailor Wars is one of my favorite songs.)
Aaaaw I miss Sailor Moon so much ;__;. You said Usagi was named "Annie" in Sweden? How strange. Here (and in all Latin America, if I'm not mistaken) she was called Serena. Makoto was Lita, Minako was Mina, Mamoru was Darien. All the rest were the same - because YES, we had ALL SERIES dubbed to Portuguese, thank goodness because I didn't have a good internet connection to dl it.
I was a happy child, I still remember the day they FINALLY showed episode 200, I cried like hell D:.
Sorry, I got carried away. When posts like this come out from nowhere, my otaku side comes out to play <3.
Aaaw and I don't have the 47 pamphlet scans ¬¬. I'm sure they're out there somewhere, but I've never seen them around (not that I've carefully looked for it). If you want to scan yours, I'll download it!! ^__^
